--Organza: Crisp and sheer like chiffon, with a stiffer texture similar in effect to tulle, but more flowing; popular for skirts, sleeves, backs, and overlays.
--Satin: A heavy, smooth fabric with a high sheen on one side; very common in bridal gowns.
--Silk: The most sought-after, cherished fiber for wedding dresses (and also the most expensive).
--Silk-Like Satin: A smooth silk satin, with a glossy front and matte back.
--Taffeta: Crisp and smooth, with a slight rib.
--Tulle: Netting made of silk, nylon, or rayon; used primarily for skirts and veils (think ballerina tutus).

Size Chart
What modifications and alterations are normally done to a dress to make it fit?
A number of alterations can be made:
--Side seams and Back Seams - The side seams and back seam in the torso can be taken in or let out to make a wedding dress fit a bride. This is true even for gowns ordered to size. Wedding gowns are usually made to allow the side seams to be let out up to 3 inches or 1-2 sizes.
Additionally, the back seam often can be let out slightly to size up further.
--Shoulders - It is also common for shoulder seams to be taken in to bring up a gown.
--Hem - The length of a dress can be shortened only and is affected by the height of the shoe you are planning to wear. Some gowns can only be shortened from the waist. Other gowns can only be shortened by taking up the hemline.
--Bustle - The bustle is a way to hook the train up in the back so that the dress can be worn comfortably after the ceremony. Bustling a dress is part of the alterations for any gown that has an attached train.

1. For Women

Choose the right special occasion dress, wedding gown, or formal dress style for your body-type and desired look. The fit guide also works for special occasion dresses, bridesmaid dresses.

1.1 Ball Gown or Pick Up

*Perfect fit

If you have a slim-hipped figure and a full bust, the Full Skirt shape will balance top and bottom perfectly, giving you that "fairytale bride" look. This style or Princess is generally thought of as the most romantic shapes.

*What to avoid

Avoid the Full Skirt if you are not full busted, as it will make your bust look smaller. If you are petite, avoid this option because you will disappear into the dress! If you have wide hips, avoid the Full Skirt because it will over emphasize them.

1.2 Princess or Empire Line

*Perfect fit

This is another fairytale look. Starting the waistline beneath the bust works well for smaller busts, and the long line makes petite brides look taller. For the ultimate romantic style, this one won't let you down. The Princess style will also do a marvellous job at covering up wider hips.

*What to avoid

The long line makes tall brides look taller. If you have a marvelous figure and want to show it off, a figure-hugging dress might be preferable, but it is difficult to find too much wrong with the Princess style, which is probably why it is so popular.

1.3 A Line

*Perfect fit

This is like the Princess but the tighter bodice hugs the waist, so it flatters slim waistlines while making the most of the bust. If you have wider hips, the A-Line will cover them up effectively.

*What to avoid

If you have a fuller figure, you may choose not to have a dress which hugs the form quite so closely. The tighter bodice will tend to draw attention to a smaller bust.

1.4 Sheath(Bias Cut)

*Perfect fit

If you are slim and want to look very chic, the sheath is for you. This is the dress for the bride with the perfect figure. The sheath flatters tall girls, but is also complimentary for a petite figure. The cloth of the sheath is diagonal, giving a different fit to the Column, described below.

*What to avoid

A sheath dress hugs the hips, so if you are fuller in the hip, avoid this style. It will show off a perfect curvy figure, but if there are curves where you don't want them, they'll show too!

1.5 Column

*Perfect fit

Like the sheath but with a straight weft and vertical seams, the Column dress hugs the figure and looks great on tall, willowy women. This is the one to give you that catwalk look! The unbroken line will also work well for a more petite figure.

*What to avoid

The Column shape sits quite close to the body, so if you have fuller hips, this will tend to emphasize them.

1.6 Trumper/Mermaid (fit to flare)

*Perfect fit

The trumpet style wedding dresses clings to your entire beautiful body starting from bust to the knees. Its very stylish and sexy look reflects your curves and create enormous amount of confidence and poise in your personality.

*What to avoid

Like sheath dress, these hug the hips, so they’re normally not suitable for the women with wide hips.

1.7 Short Gown

*Perfect fit

For the super sassy bride, the increasingly popular bridal mini ends well above the knees and is perfect for showing off a pair of sexy pins.

*What to avoid

It is best suited for informal or outdoor weddings and is especially appropriate for summer beach weddings. Equally flattering for taller brides with long legs or shorter brides who want to appear taller on their special day.
